The City of Centennial (CoC) website pages on Finance contain information on audit committee, investment committee, business taxes, business & tax licenses, contractor licensing, budget, annual financial statement report, monthly financial statements, annual report, and purchasing.  That includes links to the 220-page FY2008 Budget [PDF 8160KB], 70-page FY2007 Budget [PDF 2230KB], 78-page FY2006 Budget [PDF 4090KB], 78-page FY2005 Budget [PDF 1130KB], 41-page FY2004 Budget [PDF 106KB], 42-page FY2003 Budget [PDF 1550KB], and 63-page FY2002 Budget [PDF 249KB].

The 113-page audited 2007 Financial Statements [PDF 33100KB] were received by the City Council at the June 23, 2008 special meeting.  The audit report of Swanhorst & Company LLC was a clean opinion, the audit was a smooth process, and there were no disagreements on principle.  The previous audited financial statements for 2006 [PDF 3090KB], 2005 [PDF 2670KB], 2004 [PDF 2110KB], 2003 [PDF 5710KB], and 2002 [PDF 1180KB] also are available.

[JPG 157KB]  A budget workshop for the City Council was held on November 17, 2007 as outlined on the agenda [PDF 11KB].  As City Manager Jacque Wedding-Scott exclaimed: "The city is in great financial condition right now!"  The 198-page "Preliminary Budget, 2007 Revised/2008 Proposed" document presented the City Manager's recommendations for balanced budgets in 2007 and 2008 as required by Colorado budget laws.  Citizen activist Sam Drury described that workshop as the best that he had attended since this city was formed and an excellent example of the high-quality financial planning by the city staff.  Sam also commended the open, candid, and responsible review by City Council members.

On December 10, 2007 the City Council unanimously adopted the four-page Resolution No. 2007-R-114 [PDF 15KB], which adopted the 2008 budget, set the mill levy, and appropriated sums of money.  The 199-page budget book begins with the City Manager's 11-page December 1 budget message [PDF 125KB], which addresses the development and formation of the budget around the policies and issues addressed by City Council and also outlines the major issues addressed within the budget.

On April 28 and 29, 2008 the City Council held special meetings for a budget workshop that included a 58-page presentation [PDF 28700KB].  The next City Council budget workshop was held on August 23.  On September 15 City Manager Jacque Wedding-Scott presented her 226-page Proposed 2008 Revised / 2009 Budget [PDF 5570KB] to the City Council.  On November 3, 2008 as recommended in the two-page staff report [PDF 96KB], Resolution No. 2008-R-97 [PDF 23KB] adopted the 2008 Revised Budget, adopted the 2009 Budget, and appropriated sums of money for 2009 as outlined in the 20-page Budget Message [PDF 224KB].
