[JPG 141KB]  The City Council holds regular meetings on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month at 7:00 p.m.  Prior to each of these regular meetings, the Council conducts a study session at 6:00 p.m.  Another study session is convened on the 2nd Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m.  Monday holidays usually will cause meetings to be held the following Wednesday.  Agendas for each of these meetings usually are posted three days prior to the meeting.  The mayor and the eight council members are the voting members of the City Council.

The City Council passed a 19-page City Council Procedures and Rules of Order policy [PDF 54KB] on August 2, 2004.  This policy specifies the rules and procedures under which the City Council will conduct business, establish agendas, and maintain decorum and order during public meetings.

Mayor Randy Pye delivered his third annual State of Our City address on April 19, 2007.  Relevant materials include "A City Evolving" text [PDF 54KB],  "City of Centennial Annual Report 2006" [PDF 850KB], and "Centennial Community Accomplishments 2006" [PDF 1520KB].  Mayor Randy Pye also delivered his fourth annual State of Our City address on April 17, 2008, as noted by the 11-page "State of Our City 2008: Strategic, Secure, Stable and Strong" text [PDF 60KB] and the half-hour video presentation.

The Centennial municipal election was held on November 6, 2007.  Six city officials were elected.  The terms for the city council member in each district are for four years; the terms for city clerk and city treasurer are for two years.  All officials were sworn in on January 7, 2008.  Additional information is on the Centennial 2007 Municipal Election page.

In 2007 the City Council addressed the issue of political and other temporary signs posted on public property and within the public right-of-way for Centennial streets.  The "City of Centennial Election Sign Placement" summary [PDF 11KB] is based upon City of Centennial Ordinance No. 2007-O-09, which was adopted by unanimous vote of all nine City Council members on May 21 and became effective as of June 24, 2007.
