The County Commissioners are Chair Susan Beckman, Jim Dyer, Rod Bockenfeld, Pat Noonan, and Frank Weddig for Districts 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, respectively, as shown on the commissioner districts map. Other elected officials are Assessor Corbin Sakdol, Clerk and Recorder Nancy A. Doty, Coroner Dr. Michael Dobersen, District Attorney Carol Chambers, Sheriff J. Grayson Robinson, and Treasurer Doug Milliken. On October 10, 2006 the Board of County Commissioners received the 2007 Recommended Budget, set October 31 for the public hearing, and set December 12 for adopting the budgets. The Board of County Commissioners on December 5 adopted the supplemental budget resolution for the Third Quarter, 2006, and on December 12 adopted the 2007 budget and certified the mill levies. The Arapahoe County 2007 budget is available online in its 480-page entirety [PDF 7290KB]. The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada has awarded Arapahoe County with the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the 2007 budget. On October 9, 2007 the Board of County Commissioners received the 2008 Recommended Budget, set October 30 for the public hearing, and set December 11 for adopting the 2008 budget. The public hearing was held on October 30. Study sessions were held on November 20 and December 4. The goal of balancing current operating expenditures to current revenues has been met. The Board on December 4 adopted the supplemental budget resolution for the Third Quarter, 2007, and on December 11 the Board adopted the 2008 budget and certified the mill levies as noted in the county's December 11 one-page news release [PDF 37KB]. As noted in the county's October 31, 2008 one-page news release [PDF 36KB], the Board of County Commissioners reviewed the 2009 Recommended Budget during the October 29 public hearing. As noted in the county's December 12, 2008 two-page news release [PDF 34KB], the 2009 budget was adopted by the Board during the December 9 public hearing. Arapahoe County transitioned its public works services to Centennial by July 1, 2008 as outlined in the county's October 25, 2007 one-page news release [PDF 46KB]. The two-page Letter of Agreement [PDF 50KB] that was signed by Arapahoe County and the City of Centennial "... is intended to guide the parties' relationship toward a mutually acceptable resolution of existing issues and to best protect the health, safety, and welfare of the parties' respective communities...."
